If you’re seeking an online ADHD assessment and are aged 17 and over, I’m an experienced psychologist who can deliver this process remotely.

I appreciate that many people in Devon prefer an online assessment because it’s easier and cheaper than other arrangements. It can be particularly difficult to attend an in-person appointment if you live in a rural part of Devon and don’t want to travel a long way for an assessment.

A Highly Qualified Psychologist

My adult ADHD assessments meet NICE Guidelines (The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) and I also follow the latest Adult ADHD Quality Assurance Standard (AQAS).

As an independent Psychologist, I am committed to providing the most personal and professional service to all my clients.

As I am not part of a large national company, I can offer the most individual and bespoke service. I always accompany you through all the stages of a ADHD Assessment in Devon, including helping you to manage the paperwork and practical arrangements.

More About The Process

During your ADHD Assessment, I will meet you for 2.5 hours to discuss your strengths and difficulties from childhood right up to the present day.

We will explore your social and family life, your experience of school, learning, work and leisure activities and your view of yourself. I will interview someone who knows you well for further information about you and will review all the reports and assessments you have about yourself, including school reports.
Working from my office in Devon, I will also ask you, and the person chosen to participate in the assessment, to complete some questionnaires before the online appointments. The assessment will include about 4 hours of clinical contact time.

Following your assessment with me, we will meet for a further appointment to discuss the outcome of the assessment and recommendations for treatment. I will provide a detailed report of your assessment, a letter confirming your diagnosis (if appropriate), a document with detailed information about who to contact for medication, therapy or ADHD coaching and a document with information about further sources of support and information about ADHD.

What Happens if the Assessment Says I Don’t Have ADHD?

If the outcome of the online assessment is that you do not have ADHD, then I will make recommendations for next steps for further assessment as appropriate or alternative therapy, treatment and sources of support.

My aim with every person I meet is that you leave with a clear understanding of what you are struggling with, and a practical plan for next steps and who to contact for support and treatment.

More About My Background

Having lived and worked in Devon since 2022, I love the opportunities which living in Stoke Gabriel near Totnes and on the banks of the River Dart provides.

It is wonderful being able to walk along the river or on the South West Coast Path at lunchtime or after work!
I work with many people who were born and grew up in Devon, and others who have moved to the area more recently.

I have enjoyed getting to know Exeter and Plymouth, Dartmoor and all that the coast has to offer – on and off the water. I value the professional contacts I have gained from being part of the UK Adult ADHD Network South West, the British Psychological Society South West Branch and the South West Regional Group of the EMDR UK Association.

My Qualifications and Experience

(NICE) guidelines state that Adult ADHD Assessment and Diagnosis must be offered by an appropriately qualified healthcare professional, such as a psychologist, specialist pharmacist, specialist mental health nurse or psychiatrist, with training and expertise in the diagnosis of ADHD.

I am an HCPC Practitioner Psychologist, with a first-class degree in psychology from the University of Leeds.

I have 24 years post-qualification experience as a Chartered Psychologist and have received specialist training in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of Adult ADHD from UKAAN (The UK Adult ADHD Network).

I have attended multiple additional training and CPD events on ADHD Assessment and ADHD Diagnosis including on differentiating ADHD from other conditions which may generate similar symptoms, such as Complex Trauma, Borderline Personality Disorder and Bi-Polar Disorder.
